...BEING A MOTHER

 

I witnessed a goat giving birth today.it was one of the most amazing and breathtaking view one can ever see.

The mother goat laid there in front of me,I didn't even notice at first, until she started pushing. She was making some sounds which made me stop what I was doing and just look at her struggle in pain.

At a time I almost thought she would die cause the way she was adjusting her body and trying to push out the baby was just too painful for me to watch. But I just sat there,with a blank face with one half of my mind praying for a safe delivery for her.

She kept pushing and every single push seemed like she was giving up. at a point she stopped. Just laid there; almost lifeless.

I stood up to check up on her and she was still breathing. "Thank God" I said.

About a minute later she started pushing again.this time, the baby's leg were already out.  I could feel her pain as she pushed the 'kid' out. The first one is out. Covered in something that looks like a wrapping nylon or should I say silky bubble like thing Sha.

Immediately the kid came out she started licking the 'wrapping nylon' kind of thing from it's body. It was so disgusting to watch yet fascinating. The kid kept making like "meeh" sound as the nanny licked although it's body.

But surprisingly during the process,another kid was coming out from her,which she doesn't seem to feel at all. It was like she only cared about the first one that came out. She kept licking the first kid even as the second one came out. She didn't even notice. Or should I say; I think she didn't notice.

After licking all the 'silky bubble' thing from the first kid. The kid tried standing up and it staggered back down, made the second attempt and still couldn't find its way to be on its feets. The mother, who is just noticing the Second kid, started licking out its own 'wrappers' too while a placental looking bubble was dangling from her butt.

Even as she licked on the second kid, it doesn't seem to make any move or show any sign of life. It just laid there. No movement. Nothing.

The first kid is still practicing it's stance as it staggered its way to the Nanny's breast. It starts to suckle.

The mother kept licking on her second kid who seems to know be showing signs of life.and then again. It went silent; she kept licking though.

After some minutes an thorough licking of the second kid which seems to not be alive. She turned and was headed to leave. She walked about three or four steps; wasn't really counting.but.......

Well, she walked few steps and the 'seem to be' lifeless kid made a sudden move,like an attempt to stand up. The mother who was already looking back at it came back and just stood there, waiting for it to get up. She waited and finally it did. It staggered a few but finally got its stance. Not firmly but it did. The mother just stood there as the two kid suckled on her breast.

And I who sat for almost an hour just kept looking and smiling a everything played like a movie in front of me.

But then I started to think. If a goat can go through this much pain while giving birth,how much pain does a woman to through. 

I bet it's one 'Painful' pain.
